Has anyone here tried multiple models and can share real insights on the pros and cons?

Hey everyone, I’ve been exploring different ways to start an online business and Amazon keeps coming up. I’m particularly curious about dropshipping versus other models like FBA or private labeling. From what I understand, dropshipping seems easier since you don’t hold inventory, but I wonder how it actually compares in terms of profitability and sustainability. Has anyone here tried multiple models and can share real insights on the pros and cons here?

Oh, I’ve actually spent a couple of years experimenting with both dropshipping and FBA, and I’d be happy to share my take. Dropshipping is definitely less upfront risk—you don’t buy stock, so you’re not stuck with unsold items—but that comes with thinner margins and a heavy reliance on your suppliers being reliable. FBA, on the other hand, requires inventory investment and careful forecasting, but you can often secure better control over quality, branding, and shipping speed, which tends to build more long-term customer trust. Private labeling ups the stakes even further but can give a strong competitive edge if done right. I also read a really detailed article on this topic recently that breaks down profitability and challenges of Amazon dropshipping versus other e-commerce models. It goes into trends, market saturation, and best practices. Personally, I found that combining dropshipping with occasional FBA for bestsellers works well to manage cash flow and still test new products without huge upfront costs.
