Just started as a family caregiver and it's a lot to learn

I've recently stepped into the role of a family caregiver for my ailing father, and honestly, it feels like I've been thrown into the deep end! There’s so much to learn, from managing medications to understanding his daily needs. I'm trying to get a handle on all the different responsibilities, but it's overwhelming. Has anyone been in a similar situation? How did you organize everything and what resources did you find helpful when you were just starting out?

It's completely normal to feel that way when you first start, it's a huge shift in daily life. I remember feeling lost when I began caring for my aunt. One thing that really helped me was finding a good overview of caregiver responsibilities. There’s a super useful resource that breaks down all the daily duties of a caregiver, detailing everything from personal care to emotional support and household management. It really clarified what was expected and gave me a framework to organize my thoughts and tasks, which was incredibly helpful. It’s hard to keep track of everything if you don’t have a clear picture.
