The Cove and The Art

We are very excited to have partnered with local artist Kerrie Mott. All of our rooms and Basalt Restaurant now showcase original artwork by Kerrie. These pieces are also available for sale at The Cove Tasmania.

Let me introduce myself. I'm Kerrie Mott, The Cove's local artist.

Like many guests, I once stayed at this beautiful accommodation and happened to meet Kim. We quickly discovered a shared love of art and creativity - and somehow, here I am today.

A BIT ABOUT ME

From a very young age, I've always loved art.

I come from a large English family and some of my earliest memories are wandering through relatives' homes, admiring their art collections. I would study each piece and imagine myself stepping into the scenes before me.

When my family moved to Australia, life became busy. I raised my own family, worked hard, and treasured holidays whenever I could especially those that included visits to art galleries.

Over the years, my love of interiors, travel, nature and storytelling naturally found its way into my artwork. Painting became more than simply creating something beautiful; it became a way to capture a feeling, a memory, or a sense of calm.

Now my children have children of their own, and we all live here in Tasmania along this beautiful coastline. I've been painting for over 15 years and still feel excited each time I begin planning colours and creating a new piece.

Today, I feel incredibly grateful to share my work here at The Cove, in a place that first inspired me as a guest myself.

You will find original pieces featured throughout the apartments, along with two gallery walls inside Basalt.
