Boat Harbour Beach
One of the most picturesque beaches in Tasmania and only a 50 minute drive from The Cove. Feature crystal clear turquoise water, great snorkeling and pure white sand.


The Don River Railway
Operating since 1976, The Don River Railway is a short 4 minute drive from The Cove and takes passengers on a scenic 30 minute steam train ride along the Don River and through to Coles Beach
Reliquaire - Latrobe
Reliquaire is renowned for its eclectic wonderland of dolls, teddies, jewellery, soaps & candles, handbags & clothing, Venetian masks, cookbooks, puppets, games, science & education, Tasmanian produce, homemade fudge, leadlight lamps, bronze statues, restoration supplies and antique furniture.
Local Tasmanians and ex-science teachers, Kim and Sylvia Christie, gradually restored the 1870s built hotel that housed Reliquaire over 22 years until sadly it was destroyed by fire on Christmas Eve 2015.
They are now back on their original site at 139 Gilbert Street after finishing their new building!

Take a guided penguin tour. Located only 1 minute by car, the Friends of the Lillico Penguin's run guided ranger tours during the summer months which allows you to see the little penguins return each night

The Penguin Undercover Market
Running every sunday in Penguin (About a 20 minute drive west) the Penguin undercover market hosts a large array of stalls featuring quirky, quaint and Tasmanian hand crafted items.
